About the Role

The main purpose of the role is to process Early Years Free Entitlement Applications submitted via the council’s website. This is a statutory requirement that the council needs to fulfil.
Alongside the processing of applications, the role will require elements of extracting, producing and providing narrative with data around the Early Years Entitlement.
The role includes the administration of service meetings, such as Child Protection Case Conferences and Early Help Panel meetings.

In addition to the following responsibilities and skills, the successful candidate must be a team player as on occasion they will be asked to assist with one-off Ad-hoc administrative tasks across the wider Children’s Commissioning team.

About You

Key Responsibilities
This role involves processing applications for Early Years Free entitlement in line with key service level agreements (SLAs). You will utilize and maintain IT systems to ensure accurate processing and generate reports from systems such as Synergy (FSMB), eStart, and Microsoft Excel. Acting as the first line of support for free entitlement inquiries, you’ll manage queries through designated channels and work closely with the Performance and Data teams to provide timely and accurate information.
Additionally, you will adhere to internal processes, meet deadlines, and assist in developing statutory and Local Authority responsibilities while supporting Children’s Centre and Nursery initiatives through data collection.

Skills, Attributes, and Experience
Candidates should hold a degree or Level 3 qualification, with relevant experience in a data administrative role. Proficiency in IT and various Microsoft packages is essential, along with an understanding of children’s services and local government issues. Strong research, analysis, and communication skills are vital, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Flexibility and motivation in task completion are also important attributes for this role.
