About the Role

The Chief Executive’s Office sits at the heart of the council, working directly with Chief Executive and six Executive Directors. Busy, fast-paced and demanding, the team makes sure Directors are supported and prepared.

We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to help support this busy office. This role will manage diaries, coordinate meetings, deal with enquiries from residents, and ensure our Directors are making best use of their time. They will provide the link between Directors and others inside and outside of the organisation, helping build and maintain important relationships including with politicians, partners and key stakeholders. They will also oversee resident and councillor enquiries to these directors, ensuring these are responded to on time.

About the Team

You will be working within the Chief Executive’s support office joining the Executive Support Manager and three executive assistants. We work collaboratively with Head of the Chief Executive’s office and three Business Managers to support the Council Leadership Team.

About You

Local authority experience working to Chief Executive / Director Level would be crucial for this role. You will need to be organised and efficient and have experience of working in a similar role.

You will have a keen eye for detail, be able to work well under pressure, and work with colleagues to sort difficult problems quickly and effectively. Being a team player is important to us too. Enthusiastic and motivated, you will communicate well and share our passion for getting things right first time.
