About Haringey

Haringey is a fantastic place to live and work – the world in one borough. A place brimming with creativity, personality, radicalism, and community. It is a place where we stand up for each other. A place that is proudly distinctive. We’ll be celebrating all this and more as the “rebel borough” when we are the 2027 London Borough of Culture.
Our history champions change-makers and everyday rebels; revelling in our differences, battling discrimination, championing equality, and doing things our own way. Haringey’s people are a huge asset, with knowledge, expertise, and passion. Our staff members embody our organisational values: Caring, Creative, Courageous, Collaborative and Community-focused. These values keep us looking forward, ambitious for the future, and continuously striving to do our very best for all of our residents.

About the Role

As an Education Services Support Officer in the wider Schools and Learning Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality and comprehensive support across all teams within the Service.
You will be responsible for providing administrative support for all areas, from assisting officers in completing daily tasks to helping them in fulfilling their statutory duties and meeting important deadlines.
The post holder will be expected to prepare and sort documents for data entry and to verify and correct data where necessary, using different IT systems. Clerking the HAPI panel (multi-disciplinary admissions panel) on a weekly basis and seeking vital information from schools in relation to cases presented at the Early Help panel will also be an integral part of this role.
You will be expected to develop and maintain excellent relationships with schools and all related professionals. You will be organised, methodical and able to manage and prioritise your own workload while remaining calm under pressure. You will be competent with ICT packages with great attention to detail.

About You

The Schools and Learning Service ensure that the education provision in Haringey is of high quality for all pupils and young people. All teams within the Service work within the framework set out by the Corporate Delivery Plan of ensuring that every child and young person is equipped, supported and able to achieve their full potential. For the Council, this means providing high-quality, joined-up services that provide children, young people and families with holistic care and support, all the way through their childhood and adolescence.
The Service is exceptionally busy throughout the year and is a challenging place to work.  Fundamental knowledge of legislation relating to school admissions, school governance, CME and appeals and exclusion hearings is desired but not essential. For an informal discussion and more information please contact: Carlo Kodsi on 07870362260
