About the Team & Role

Haringey’s Violence and Exploitation Team delivers intensive outreach intervention with young people at high risk of becoming involved in group related offending, county lines, serious youth violence including gangs and child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation; and/or who are missing, vulnerable and exploited.
This role will involve working within the Exploitation Service to engage and provide targeted interventions to young people and their families who are entrenched in or are at risk of Child criminal/sexual exploitation and contextual safeguarding concerns.

About You

The ideal candidate should possess a relevant professional qualification, preferably to NVQ level 3, or substantial experience working with vulnerable young people and young adults, particularly in a fieldwork setting or related field. They should have a wide range of experience working with challenging individuals involved in the criminal justice system and their families, with a demonstrated ability to implement effective practices supported by evidence-based approaches.
Furthermore, the candidate should have a proven track record of managing risk and vulnerability within youth and adult justice settings. This includes experience in working with young people involved in gangs and group offending, showcasing an understanding of the complexities and dynamics associated with such situations.
Experience in conducting needs assessments and developing comprehensive support packages based on identified needs is essential. The candidate should be familiar with utilizing frameworks such as the Lead Professional and Camden’s Resilient Families Framework to guide their approach, ensuring a holistic and tailored response to individual circumstances.
Overall, the candidate should bring a combination of relevant qualifications, hands-on experience, and a deep understanding of effective interventions to support vulnerable young people and adults involved in the criminal justice system and their families. Their ability to manage risk, apply evidence-based practices, and develop personalized support plans will be crucial for achieving positive outcomes in this challenging field.
