Working at Haringey gives you the opportunity to play a part in meeting those ambitions on behalf of everyone who calls the borough their home.

About the role

You will be key to building a multi-way dialogue with existing stakeholders, and also develop new partnerships, to provide transparent and timely information while tackling some of the barriers that currently exist which stop some people from accessing services.

You will have experience of stakeholder management and will have a minimum of two years working in stakeholder engagement or a communication background. You will be confident in engaging with a variety of stakeholders with differing needs, with the aim of empowering then to enhance service delivery and increase participation.

You will have the ability and enthusiasm to learn new skills, adapt quickly and lead on stakeholder engagement, communication and consultation and must be skilled in negotiation and be able to effectively handle tension and conflict, while ensuring a high level of service delivery, professional practice and customer care is provided at all times.

About the team

Haringey’s Council has re-evaluated its approach to parks and has used evidence gathered to develop it’s new Parks and Greenspaces Strategy, which will be launched early next year.

The Strategy details the Council’s commitment to tackle climate change and inequality. Haringey’s parks should be shared spaces for all communities, and we intend to explore and dismantle the barriers that prevent some of the borough’s residents from using parks and feeling safe, included and welcome.

You will be based within the Events & Partnerships Team within Parks & Leisure Services. The Team has recently expanded to help deliver on some of the key priorities arising from the new Strategy. It is an exiting time for the service and we look forward to welcoming you to the Team.
