About the role

Are you a dedicated professional possessing strong commercial acumen seeking an opportunity to make a difference and improve value for money for the residents of our borough? Haringey Council is looking for a Commercial Manager to lead our commercial team situated with our repairs and maintenance service to lead and manage the procurement and commercial operations across our Housing repairs service.

In this role, you will have commercial oversight of our direct labour organisation and projects undertaken across the service. You will ensure that all contracts are procured in compliance within guidelines and managed with a robust contract management framework. You will lead on the preparation of tender specifications and support to ensure our services represent value for money and deliver a high quality service.

Your duties encompass working across teams to ensure effective cross team collaboration and ensuring that all commercial activity is assessed and reported upon, you will lead on providing clear productivity performance and job costing reports and you will lead on the specification and procurement of specialist contractors and suppliers to help us deliver or repairs and maintenance service for our residents.

You will drive transformational change across the team to shape our services based on customer feedback and insight and you will provide weekly monitoring information to track our commercial performance.

About you

We are seeking someone who has a professional qualification in construction, surveying, finance or relevant experience within a Social Housing repairs and maintenance environment. With strong experience of running a commercially focused operation delivery responsive and planned building repairs and maintenance services. A good understanding of procurement processes along with other operational activities relating to repairs and maintenance contracts. You will have the knowledge and expertise to translate data and performance information into clear and concise reports for a variety of audiences to aid decision making and you will be able to manage and motivate a team of finance staff.
