How to apply

There are two options for you:

  1. Applying online (free internet access is available at Haringey libraries)
  2. Applying using a paper application (if you do not have access to the internet)

Click on the link at the bottom of the page to take you to all our current vacancies.

Voluntary / Work Experience

Please note that if you would like to work for Haringey on a voluntary work experience type basis you will need to contact the relevant service directly. Our Switchboard number is 020 8489 0000.

Online applications

Applying online is

  • quicker for you as the job details are immediately available and your completed application gets to us straight away without risk of being lost or delayed in the post,
  • it reduces the amount of paper which is produced, and
  • there is no need to complete your application in one go, you can save and return later
  • Remember that the same information is available on-line that is sent to candidates requesting a paper copy without the need to wait for the information.
  • online applicants get more time (until 11.30pm on the closing date) to submit their application, postal applications must reach us by 5.00pm on the closing day

  • Search and apply for jobs now

When you have gone into the Job Search section and decided which job you want to apply for, click on the button on the advert which invites you to apply now. This will automatically take you to the online application form (if you are logged in).

 A full copy of the job description & candidate specification is also available by clicking on the link on each advertisement (available within the right hand column). Applicants are strongly advised to download all the links attached as this will give you the full details about the post.

 To make an online application:

  • Go to the Jobs Page and either enter the job title of the vacancy into the Keyword Search, or use the search facilities to find a suitable role for you.
  • Click on the Apply Now button on the advert
  • If you haven't previously registered to use the site, you will be prompted to do so.
  • As a new user you will be sent an email with a link on it that you need to click on before you log into your account. Your account must be active before you can use it. Call us on 020 8489 2449 if you need help with activating your account.
  • If you have previously registered, you should enter your email address
  • This will take you through to the application form. 
  • The job description and canddiate specification is available by clicking on the link on the right hand side of the page

To Make A Paper application:

If you are unable to complete the form online, you can phone our response handling agents on 0870 700 0205 to ask for the application pack to be posted to you. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accept emailed or scanned application forms. You must post your completed form to our response unit at:

All postal applications must be received by 5.00pm on the closing date. Please note that completed applications cannot be accepted if they are returned direct to the council’s Recruitment Team other than to the address above. Remember you can submit an online application right up until 11.30pm on the closing date

Please make sure that you indicate clearly on the top of your application form, both the advert reference number and the job title of the job that you are applying for.

Remember your account with us must be activated before you can use it. Click on the email we sent you when you registered to activate your account. If you cannot do this call us on the number above. 

Please note you can only get a hard copy application form by calling 0870 700 0205. Wherever possible we encourage you to  apply online as this ensures your application is received instantly without the risk of it getting lost or delayed in the post. We regret that Haringey Council is not responsible for applications lost or delayed in the post.
